PURPOSE:To make it possible to control the opening degree of a throttle valve to a value which is optimum in accordance with the temperature of an engine, by fully opening a choke valve during low temperature operation, and by rotating a fast idle cam fitted on a choke shaft in accordance with the temperature of the engine with the use of a bimetal. CONSTITUTION:During normal low temperature operation a bimetal 43 rotates an idle cam 24 to a cam position in accordance with the temperature of the engine at that time, and therefore a choke valve 22 is fully opened through a choke shaft 23 in association with the rotation of the idle cam 24. Further, since an arm 40 is coupled to a choke lever 42 through a spring 45, and the idle cam 24 is fitted onto the choke shaft 23 through the intermediary of a spring 25, the bimetal 43 contracts while the choke valve 22 is left to be fully closed during very low temperature operation, and the idle cam 24 is rotated to a cam position in accordance with the temperature at that time. Further, the thus set idle cam 24 is engaged with a stopper on the throttle valve 21. Accordingly, it is possible to control the opening degree of the throttle valve 21 always to an optimum value.
