<p>PURPOSE:To simplify an input of a sentence by providing a character recognizing part for recognizing an input character by analyzing a sequence of a coordinate value which is inputted from a position input device. CONSTITUTION:An input part 11 stores a sequence of a coordinate value of a character pattern which is inputted by writing from a coordinate input device 1, and supplies it to a recognition processing part 12 and a sentence editing processing part 13. The processing part 12 detects its writing stroke from the sequence of the coordinate value, and recognizes an input character by calculating a degree of similarity of its stroke feature information, and stroke feature information of a recognition object character which is stored in a dictionary data buffer 15. A result of recognition of the recognized input character is stored in an output data buffer 16, and offered for a display by a display device 4. Also, the processing part 13 detects an input position of a character in a character inputtable area of the device 1, and the result of detection of position is stored in a position data buffer 14, and used for controlling a display position on the device 4.</p> |
