PURPOSE:To use a single-lens reflex camera for a silver chloride film as an electronic still camera by providing an image pickup element and a magnetic disk recorder and detachably attaching to a finder part of the single-lens reflex camera. CONSTITUTION:Finder light flux is made incident on an image sensor and an electronic still camera unit 14 provided with a circuit for processing the signal of its electric output is mounted in place of a finder unit 12. The presence or absence of an electronic still photographing and/or the photographing by the silver chloride film and the recording of the magnetic disk can be realized by suitably disabling various mechanisms and circuits in a camera main body 10 and respective circuits (especially, controller 71) in the electronic camera unit 14 by an electronic still/silver chloride film changeover switch or other operation mode selection switches.
