PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized oscillator stable in oscillation frequency by utilizing a varactor diode and a resonance stub constituting a tuning circuit for part of an oscillation frequency fluctuation detection circuit so as to extract a DC voltage corresponding to the fluctuation of the oscillation frequency and using the voltage to control a bias voltage of the varactor diode. CONSTITUTION:The difference in the phase between terminals (1), (3) of a 1/2 wavelength length microstrip resonator 13 by 180 deg. is utilized, the phase difference between both the terminals (1), (3) and a tip (2) of the resonance stub 9 is detected by detection diodes 10, 11, the obtained detection voltage is used to extract a voltage corresponding to the frequency fluctuation and controls a gias voltage of the varactor diode thereby controlling the oscillation frequency of an electronic tuning oscillator. That is, the tuning circuit consisting of the varactor diode 7 and the resonance stub 9 is used as part of the oscillating frequency fluctuation detection circuit 17. Thus, the microwave oscillator stable in oscillation frequency and small in size is obtained.
