PURPOSE:To simplify the titled measurement by feeding powdery granules of a sample into a vessel maintained at a fixed temp. and packed with a gas of known pressure and humidity, and measuring increases in pressure and volume of the gas in the vessel. CONSTITUTION:In case air of known humidity is fed into the vessel whose temp. (t) deg.C is kept constant, the pressure is denoted as P. It is assumed that the pressure becomes P+DELTAP, and the vol. of the gas varies to v+DELTAv from v. If a saturated vapor pressure at (t) deg.C is denoted as (es), a partial pressure of vapor in air of known humidity as (e), a relative humidity H of the air in equilibrium with the sample powder granules is known as H=(100/es)[e+DELTAP+P(DELTAv/v)] by calculation. Then, by the humidity of the air in equilibrium with the sample powdery granules is known by measuring DELTAP, DELTAv, the moisture thereof is known, thereby, the measurement can be simplified. |
