PURPOSE:To attain mass-production by forming an optical multiplexer/demulti plexer, semiconductor light emitting and receiving elements incorporatedly. CONSTITUTION:The optical signal of a wavelength lambda1 sent through the 1st optical fiber 1-1 is sent to the 2nd optical fiber 1-2 via an optical repeater and the optical signal of wavelength lambda2 sent through the 2nd optical fiber 1-2 is sent to the 1st optical fiber 1-1 via the optical repeater. Two optical signals with different wavelengths are propagated through one optical fiber in opposite directions to each other, then a two-way optical repeater is realized by one optical fiber with a symmetrical and simple constitution. |
