MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS PRODUCTION

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve durability in long-period preservation by incorporating >=30mg/cm<2> lubricating agent in total into an undercoating layer and magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The lubricating agent is incorporated into both the undercoating layer and magnetic layer formed on a substrate and the content thereof is specified to >=30mg/cm<2> in total of the two layers. The transfer of the lubricating agent in the magnetic layer to the undercoating layer so as to be contained into the holes of carbon black is obviated if the substantial amt. of the lubricating agent is incorporated into the undercoating layer and the magnetic layer in the above-mentioned manner. The dissipation of the lubricating agent from the surface of the magnetic layer is obviated even after the long-period preservation and the excellent lubricating effect thereof is maintained and thoroughly exhibited for a long period of time. The durability particularly in the long-period preservation is thoroughly improved. For example, fatty acid ester, etc. are adequately used as the lubricating agent to be incorporated into the undercoating layer and the magnetic layer.
