PURPOSE:To improve the data transfer efficiency of a transmission line by transmitting the information relating to the data transmission, transmission confirmation or retransmission request through one unit of unidirectional communication line in the data communication system of call setting type of a communication system having multiple access performance so as to reduce the occupancy of the line attended with the transmission confirmation or the retransmission request. CONSTITUTION:A sender station ensures a unidirectional communication line and sends a data by utilizing the said line, does not release the line after all the data are sent and holds the line continuously in a communication system where plural stations 51-5n having terminal equipments T1-Tm are connected by a transmission medium 50 having multiple access performance. Then the terminal equipment receiving a call detects the end of reception data and sends the information of transmission confirmation or retransmission request to the incoming side node. The station receiving the call superimposes the information relating to the transmission confirmation or retransmission request received from the incoming terminal equipment onto the communication line reserved by the transmission station. The transmission station fetches the information superimposed by the incoming station from the communication line acquired by the transmission station itself and kept reserved and transfers it to the sending terminal equipment. Thus, the occupancy of the line attended with the transmission confirmation or retransmission request is reduced and the data transmission efficiency of the transmission line is improved.
