The laser cathode ray tube has an evacuated bulb (1) in which an electron gun (2), a control system (3) for an electron beam (4) and a screen (5) are arranged. The screen (5) is constructed as a plane-parallel semiconductor plate (6) with smooth surfaces, on which reflection coatings (7, 8) are deposited. The coating (8) which faces the electron gun (2) has a thin metal layer (10) and a layer (11) of an optically transparent solid dielectric, whose thickness h is determined from the following relationship: <IMAGE> where: h - the thickness of the layer (11) of optically transparent solid dielectric; @ - the radiation wavelength of the laser cathode ray tube; nd - the refractive index of the dielectric; nm and km - the real and imaginary parts of the refractive index of the metal; p - a positive integer or zero. The method for thermal-vacuum treatment of the tube comprises heating the evacuated tube to a temperature in the range 155 DEG to 255 DEG C. <IMAGE>
