Drainage device for use with suction or gravity flow

The inlet has a U-shape passage to hold a small quantity of liq. so that air leaking from the patient bubbles through the liq. to provide a visual indicator. The inlet is switchable from one mode where drained fluid passes through the liq. in the inlet passage to another mode where it does not. A diaphragm pressure gauge (158) on the chamber directly measures the working pressure. Flexure of the diaphragm is translated to display the chamber pressure. An adjustable suction relief valve vents the outlet to atmosphere at a preset level of suction.
