In the rainwater gutter (1) there is arranged a body (2) which consists of open-cell foam material and is shaped such that it covers the open upper side of the rainwater gutter (1) over the entire length thereof, rests on the inner wall of the rainwater gutter (1), on mutually opposite sides, and, by means of its underside (3) running at a distance from the base (4) of the rainwater gutter, delimits, between said underside and the base of the rainwater gutter, a channel (5) for the water discharge. The body (2) prevents dirt and foliage from passing into the rainwater gutter (1) and allows the rainwater to pass through in the same way as through a filter, with the result that the water can be channelled away and collected in a clean state. <IMAGE>
