PURPOSE:To obtain recording under a highly dense condition, a stabilized recording medium, and highly reliable data, by providing an area for controlling writing at each track and controlling the writing power to the optimum condition. CONSTITUTION:Writing data are inputted to a writing modulator circuit 1 through a signal line 101 and, after modulation, sent to an optical disk head section 3, by which pits are formed on a disk, with the writing power being controlled by a writing power controlling circuit 2. Read out signals are read out as signals 108 from the head section 3 through read out sense demodulator circuit 7. On the other hand, detection is performed by a circuit 6 which detects the signal width of a read out signal at a prescribed level for controlling the writing power and an average value is obtained by inputting the measured values of the circuit 6 to an averaging circuit 5. An optimum power deciding device 4 decides a control signal to be sent to the power controlling circuit 2 in accordance with the averaged output signal 105 of the circuit 5. |
