Steering-control system in which the wheels of one axle (for example the front one) are oriented directly by a known steering system, whilst the orientation of the wheels of at least one other axle is dependent on a servo-control receiving data on the orientation of the various wheels, for example by means of sensors 1, 2, and being capable of employing various steering modes (8a, 8b, 8c), characterised in that it comprises at least one other control (13, 16), independent of the selection means, which during its actuation temporarily cancels out the servo-control mode selected in order to change it into a different specified mode, the cancellation of the actuation of this or these other controls (13, 16) restoring the previously selected mode. <IMAGE>
