PURPOSE:To perform the straightening of a shape steel with good accuracy by driving by rotating with separate motor via a speed reducing mechanism respectively each roll line composed of the plural upper and lower rolls and right and left plural rolls which are arranged alternately at the necessary pitch. CONSTITUTION:The straightening machine provides with the horizontal straightening roll line composed of the right and left rolls 4, 5 provided at the alternate position at the prescribed pitch and the vertical straightening roll line 7 composed of the upper and lower rolls in the similar arrangement. Each roll line is driven by turning it by geared motors 40, 41 respectively via a speed reducing mechanism and plural right and left rolls 4, 5 and the upper and lower rolls are controlled so that the respective peripheral speed becomes the same. When a shape steel 2 is fed between rolls 4, 5 by the preceding stage pinching roll 3, and shape steel 2 is straightened with good precision corresponding to the stroke in the progressing direction between the rolls 4, 5 the pitch of which is reduced gradually. In this way the straightening machine having sufficient straightening effect for shape steel is obtd.
