CONSTITUTION:The roller 46 for shutting an ink discharge opening is attached to frame 6. The roller can be rotated around a Z-directional axis, consists of non air-permeability elastic material such as neoprene rubber or others and is of an elliptic cylinder shape. A recording head 4 is located at the first home position in recording time and a carriage is stretched in the arrow B direction with a tension spring 36. In no recording time, by stopping the application of current to a solenoid 38, the plunger 40 of the recording head 4 goes back in the arrow D direction, and the carriage moves in the arrow B direction. Then, the ink discharge opening 5 comes in contact with the roller 46. |
