PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of formed glass article due to cooling in the air by fitting a ring from above to each drum die for all sections freely attachably and removably. CONSTITUTION:In a section I, a glass lump fed to the inside of a drum die 10 and a lifting rod 15 is molded by the dropping motion of a press cylinder 6 using a punch die 8. During molding, floating up of the glass lump is prevented by allowing a binder base 9 to contact with the upper surface of a ring 11. After a predetermined time, the press cylinder 6 is moved upward to transfer the drum die 10 to a section II, and high pressure air is blown from a cooling device above a table 2 of the molding machine to cool the molded particle by confining in the ring 11, drum die 10, and rod 15. Further, when the drum die 10 reaches a section VI, a lifting cylinder 41 is actuated automatically and a rod 27 is lifted by means of a flange 30. When the rod reaches a specified height, spontaneous dropping is inhibited by the collision with a latch 37. In the stage, the ring 11 is lifted by means of a rod 27 through a holder 29 to a specified height to cause lifting of the lifting rod 15 with a lifting lever 16, and a molded product is discharged.
