PURPOSE:To obtain the clad steel having excellent mechanical strength and joining strength by performing a diffusion treatment after performing a hot pressure welding by interposing Mo between the base metal composed of Ti and Ti alloy and the surface metal to be claded thereon. CONSTITUTION:Mo is interposed as an intermediate material 6 in the medium of the base metal 5 composed of Ti and Ti alloy and the surface material 7 to be claded and is kept at the prescribed temp. in a high purity Ar gas and subjected to a hot rolling. A diffusion treatment is further performed in the high purity Ar gas in the prescribed temp. In this way, the clad steel having excellent mechanical strength and excellent joining strength as well is obtd.
