NEW MATERIAL:Monoazoe dye of formula I, which has a crystalline modifica tion characterized by an X-ray diffraction pattern (CuKalpha) with an intense peak at an angle (2theta) of diffraction of about 4.2 deg., four weak peaks at an angle (2theta) of diffraction of about 16.9 deg., 23.6 deg., 25.3 deg. and 26.8 deg.. USE:A dye which dyes polyester fibers, natural fibers, etc. uniformly bluish red, etc. even under high-temperature and servo conditions. PREPARATION:A compd. of formula II is diazotized and then coupled with a compd. of formula III Is an aq. medium to obtain a monoazo compd. of formula I. The monoazo compd. having a crystalline modification of a nearly amorphous state is treated either (i) by dispersing it in an aq. medium and stirring the dispersion at 60-130 deg.C, or (ii) by dispersing it in an org. solvent and stirring the dispersion at 15-100 deg.C, thus obtaining the desired compd.
