PURPOSE:To enable a heat-fusible ink layer to be provided by melting and mixing constituents of the ink layer without using any organic solvent and then applying the resultant mixture to a base, by using a fine particulate wax having a melting point higher than that of a low melting point wax material constituting an ink, as a filler constituting the ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible ink layer 23 is provided on a sheet base 21, with an intermediate adhesive layer 22 therebetween. The ink layer 23 is provided by, for example, a method wherein 1pt.wt. of Kayaset Black as a coloring agent, 2pts.wt. of a fatty acid amide wax and 1pt.wt. of paraffin wax as low melting point wax materials, and 1pt.wt. of a filler consisting of a fine particulate polyethylene wax having a melting point higher than those of the low melting point wax materials and incompatible with the coloring agent are mixed and dispersed in the state of being melted by heating to a temperature higher than a thermal transfer temperature, and the ink solution thus prepared is applied in a thickness of 10mum by a hot-melt coating method. The ink sheet for thermal transfer recording thus obtained is shaped into a ribbon, which is fitted on a recording paper set in a thermal transfer printer, whereby images in an intermediate-density color can be obtained. |
