PURPOSE:To enable wrong data to be cleared while auto-correction is being conducted and enhance efficiency of typing, by providing a storage means with an input buffer for storing data inputted through a keyboard during an operation of a correcting device, and providing the correcting device with a correction stopping controlling means and a clearing controlling means for clearing the input buffer according to an operation of a correction stopping command key. CONSTITUTION:When it is required to correct a word, a word correction key 50 is operated, whereby word correction data are taken into a CPU 64, and a word-correcting processing is conducted. When it is required to stop the correcting operation, an auto-correction key 52 is operated, whereby a step S23 is executed to clear a key buffer 120, then a stop flag is set ON in a step S24, and the word-correcting processing is stopped.
