<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture high purity electrolytic iron having a very low gas content when pure iron is deposited on a stainless steel cathode with anodess of soft iron having a low impurity content and the cathode, by providing the shape of a vertical rotary drum to the cathode and suspending the anodes parallel to each other around the cathode. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical stainless steel cathode 4 rotating on a vertical axis is uprighted at the central part of an electrolytic cell 1 and plural soft iron or pure iron plates as consumable anodes 3 are arranged around the cathode 4 at the same distance from the cathode 4. An acidic electrolytic soln. 2 contg. FeCl2, NH4Cl and HCl is poured into the cell 1 and electric current is supplied through power supplying Ti members 9 and a current collecting Ti member 10 to carry out electrolysis. Extremely high purity electrolytic iron contg. essentially H2 and small amous of O2 and N2 generated in the vicinity of the surface of the cathode 4 is obtd.</p> |
