<p>PURPOSE:To directly manufacture high purity and high quality electrolytic iron in the form of powder when electrolytic iron is manufactured, by boiling an electrolytic bath around cathodes. CONSTITUTION:An acidic electrolytic soln. 3 contg. a ferrous iron source such as FeSO4 or FeCl2 is poured into an electrolytic cell, plate-shaped consumable anodes 1 of mild steel or pure iron and plate-shaped cathodes 2 of stainless steel or the like are alternately arranged in the cell and electric current is supplied to the electrodes 1, 2 to deposit electrolytic iron on the cathodes 2. At this time, a heater 4 is placed on the bottom of the cell to heat the electrolytic soln. 3 and the soln. 3 around the cathodes 2 are boiled during electrolysis. Electrolytic iron depositing on the cathodes 2 falls constantly from the surfaces of the cathodes 2 and gathers on the bottom of the cell as electrolytic iron powder of <=100mum particle size. Thus, high purity electrolytic iron powder is obtd. without requiring a crushing stage.</p> |
