PURPOSE:A cosmetic containing high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid having a specific average molecular weight and/or a salt thereof and having improved humectant effect on the skin, skin beautifying effect, makeup holding property, etc., and further novel organoleptic characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic containing high-molecular weight hyaluronic acid having >=8,000,000 average molecular weight and/or a salt thereof in an amount of preferably 0.01-10wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic (provided that the hyaluronic acid may be blended up to about 40wt% for pack or cataplasm aiming at film formation). If a thin film of the cosmetic is formed on the skin, refreshing feeling without stickiness and effect on supplying moderate moisture to the skin are produced. The cosmetic is useful as cosmetics, e.g. cream, milky lotion, toilet water, pack, lip cream, lip color undermakeup, foundation, cake, hair tonic, etc. |
