PURPOSE:To attain miniaturization, to omit the work of protection and extension of an electric wire and to facilitate the wiring work by connecting a transmission unit and a reception unit by an optical fiber and incorporating respectively a transmission circuit and a reception circuit in the transmission unit and the reception unit. CONSTITUTION:A main unit 10A in the transmission unit 10 is connected to the transmission side equipment by an input connector 11. A timing circuit 14 gives a start signal to the transmission circuit 15, gives the end of transmission to the next extension unit 10B via an extension connector 18a and the next unit starts transmission. The transmission circuit 15 adds an address signal for unit identification and converts the signal into a serial signal. An optical transmission module 7 applies optical modulation and outputs the result to an optical fiber 30. A main unit 20A in the reception unit 20 applies serial/ parallel conversion to the optical signal sent via the optical fiber 30 through the optical reception module 21 and the reception circuit 22, collates the reception address with the setting value and when they are coincident, the reception data is outputted. An output connector 25 connects the reception side equipment. |
