PURPOSE:To improve the track fitting accuracy of a pair of magnetic core halves and to upgrade track width accuracy, yield and productivity and to reduce crosstalk by setting width on the magnetic gap forming surface of a thin metallic film for one magnetic core equal to track width and making width on the magnetic gap forming surface of the thin metallic film for the other magnetic core larger than said track width. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic core halves 21 and 22 forming ferromagnetic thin films 13 and 14 on a joint surface from which the magnetic cores 11 and 12 are obliquely notched are constituted. The width on the magnetic gap surface of the thin metallic film 14 equals the track width, while that of the thin metallic film 13 is larger by several mum than the track width. The core halves 21 and 22 are butted through a gap spacer so that the butted part of the thin films 13 and 14 can be the magnetic gap (g) of the track width. A coil hole 19 winding a coil is formed on the core half 12. Moreover track regulating grooves are installed on both sides of the magnetic gap (g), and nonmagnetic materials 17 and 18 are melted and filled.
