PURPOSE:To make it possible to absorb the mechanical shock of a balance weight caused by vertical movement of a column and prevent a workpiece and a cutter from bad affection by providing the balance weight of a milling machine with a buffer member. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical buffer member 34 made of rubber is placed on a plate member 28, and a fixing cylinder 26 penetrated with a rod 30 and fixed with a nut 32 is clamped to a balance weight 24 with screws. And it is connected to a roller chain which is also connected to a lifting column at the ring on the top of the rod 30. By this, when the balance weight 24 moves opposingly to the lifting column together with the vertical movement of the lifting column, the buffer member 34 is compressed due to the weight of the balance weight absorbing the shock caused by the vertical movement. Therefore, since the vibration is transmitted so little to a workpiece and a cutter as not to badly affect them, transmission members can be prolonged in their service life and miniaturized and the positioning of the workpiece and cutter can be controlled exactly. |
