PURPOSE:To prevent the defective sepn. of a separating claw made of a heat resistant resin or paper jam arising from an increase in the radius at the front end of the separating pawl by coating the surface layer at lest at the front end of the above- mentioned separating claw with a fluorine compd. having a specific polyfluoroalkyl group and contg. and polar group having high affinity to the surface of the base material resin of the separating claw. CONSTITUTION:The surface layer at least at the top end of the separating claw made of the heat resistant resin for stripping fixing paper from a fixing roller is coated with the fluorine compd. having the polyfluoroalkyl group of 2-20C and contg. the polar group having the high affinity to the surface of the base material resin of the separating claw. The fluorine compd. is the compd. having the polyfluoroalkyl group of 2-20C, for example, CF3(CF2)7-, etc., and a polar group, for example, -NCO, -OH, etc. The polyfluoroalkyl group contributes to the improvement of lubricity and non- tackiness and the polar group contributes to the improvement of the adhesiveness between the heat resistant resin and the fluorine compd. The fluorine compd. in which the polar group is positioned at the terminal of the molecule has excellent adhesiveness and is more preferable; 1 or >=2 polar groups may exist simultaneously in one molecule of the fluorine compd.
