发明名称 METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMPRESSING OPTICAL PULSE
摘要 PURPOSE:To compress effectively even laser pulses having a low peak light intensity by using a fiber where materials having a nonlinear refractive index lower than that of a glass fiber are enclosed in the core part. CONSTITUTION:A hollow fiber 1A is used where the diameter of the hollow part is several mu and that of the clad part is >=0.1mm. The whole of this fiber is fixed in a cell 3 filled up with an organic liquid 2. an incidence window 4 and an exit window 5 for light passage are attached to the cell 3 in directions of both ends of the fiber 1A. In an optical pulse compressor using the hollow fiber 1A where the organic liquid 2 is enclosed, materials having a nonlinear refractive index lower than that of materials used in a conventional compressor using the glass fiber can be selected and used. Thus, the spectrum width of even a laser light having a low peak power is extended by a sufficient nonlinear refracting effect to make the pulse compression possible.
