[Also in Division E1] An underframe for tables, stools, seats or a post for supporting a lantern comprises two cup shaped members 1 of synthetic plastics material connected together with their small ends facing each other. The cup shaped members 1 are secured together by a bolt 2, passing through inwardly directed tubes 5 at the small ends of the members 1. The large end of each cupshaped member 1 has internal ribs 9. A cushion A is placed in the large end of the upper cup-shaped member 1. A cylindrical member (10a Fig. 3) can be disposed between the two facing small ends of the cup-shaped members 1 to form a high stool and a wheel (13) serving as a footrest can be clamped between the cylindrical member (10a) and the lower cup-shaped member 1. A transparent table top (36) (Fig. 4) is secured by a nut (37) to the upper end of a bolt (2b) extending through the two cup shaped members 1 and a cylindrical member (10b). A circular lamp (33) is mounted under the table top and a weight (35) is disposed in the lower cup-shaped member 1. A lantern (39) (Fig. 5) containing a ring lamp (33) and a reflector (40) is mounted on the upper cup shaped member 1 and a cylindrical member (10c) is disposed between the small facing ends of the cup shaped members. A seat (41, Fig. 6) with the integral back is bolted to the upper cup shaped member 1. A bearing (20, Fig. 10b) may be disposed between the small facing ends of the cup-shaped members 1 to allow the seat to swivel. A plurality of seats are connected together in line by a rail (16, Fig. 11) having holes through which the bolts connecting the cup-shaped members 1 of the seats pass or by a rod (43, Fig. 12) passed through flat rings secured to other flat rings clamped between the cup-shaped members. |
