PURPOSE:To quiet rocking of a ship body efficiently further as quick as possible, by optimizing the moving period of fluid in a rock reducing tank and enhancing a rock reducing effect. CONSTITUTION:Time, from the point of time that a flow speed of fluid 12 in a rock reducing tank 4 generated by rocking of a ship body 2 is zero to the point of time that a tilt angle of the ship body 2 is zero, is detected. And time, after the point of time the tilt angle of the ship body 2 is zero before an opening and closing means 10 is opened, is set. And the opening and closing means 10, after it is opened, is controlled so as to be closed in the point of time the flow speed of the fluid 12 in the rock reducing tank 4 again becomes zero. In this way, since the opening and closing means 10 updates its opening and closing period (that is, moving period of the fluid 12) to be optimized in accordance with a rock of the ship body 2 changing moment by moment in cooperation with a rock reducing effect, the ship body 2, performing follow-up action to its rocking, continuously obtains the rock reducing effect. Accordingly, the rock of the ship body can be quieted efficiently further as quick as possible.
