PURPOSE:To surely reproduce data by increasing the travel speed of a magnetic tape and the rotating speed of a cylinder by R times composed with those in a normal reproduction so as to reproduce data and returning the data rate of a partially extracted paired data to its original data rate. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder 1 loaded with a recording and reproducing magnetic head is rotated, and simultaneously a magnetic tape is traveled. Data recorded on two adjacent tracks on the magnetic tape is processed as one set of paired data. At the time of reproduction, the travel speed of the magnetic tape and the rotational speed of the cylinder 1 are multiplied by R, compared with those in a normal reproduction, and reproduced data is thinned by a gate 9 with the aid of a signal from a logic circuit 8. A data rate conversion circuit 11 reads out the thinned signal with the aid of the signal returned to the frequency of a normal data clock from a frequency divider circuit 10, and transmits it to a signal processing circuit 16. In such a way the signal can be surely reproduced even if the reproduction speed is increased or decreased, and the fixed pitch of a reproduced sound can be attained. |
