PURPOSE:To improve responsiveness of injection rate control and others by compensating control data for each cylinder for controlling injection rate so that the data is increased or decreased only for a specified period of time according to a required parameter related to a condition of fuel injection rate control. CONSTITUTION:An instantaneous speed Nin from a speed detection part 32 becomes an average speed through an average operation part 33 which, together with a target speed Nt from a target speed operation part 34, is used by a first PID operation part 36 to calculate a target position Pt of an injection rate control member. Also, a speed differential operation circuit 39 calculates a difference Nin between instanta neous speed of each cylinder and an instantaneous speed of a reference cylinder and a second PID operation part 40 calculates an injection rate data QATC of each cylinder for equalizing output of each cylinder. And when a switch 42 is closed under a condi tion, for instance, of approximately stabilized idle revolution, QATC is added to Pt and an output timing of an output control part 41, and a compensation amount M obtained from both an average speed at a compensation operation part 46 and an injection rate data Qt is added via a switch 47 to Pt for a specified period to time. Thus, responsiveness can be improved.
