PURPOSE:To permit safe handling under a yellow safety lamp by consisting silver halide of specific silver borochloride or silver iodochloride and incorporating one kind of the compd. selected from specific compds. into one layer of silver halide emulsion layers. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide incorporated into at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers is the silver borochloride or silver iodoborochloride contg. at least 50mol% silver chloride having 0.05-0.5mum average grain size and 5-25 monodisperse degree. At lest one kind of the compd. selected from the compd. expressed by the formula (I) and at least one kind of the compd. selected from the compd. expressed by the formula (II) are incorporated into at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers. The layer into which the compd. expressed by the formula (I) and the compd. expressed by the formula (II) are incorporated is a hydrophilic colloid layer and is more preferably the silver halide emulsion layer and/or the hydrophilic colloid layer adjacent to the silver halide emulsion layer.
