PURPOSE:To stretch a smooth free curved surface easily using simple algorithm for framed space adjoining to extend in all directions by dividing spaces to quadrangle spaces and spreading patches when non-quadrangle spaces such as triangular, pentagonal spaces in characteristic part of a boundary curve network are obtained by framing process. CONSTITUTION:Non-quadrangle spaces are apt to generate in boundary curve network characteristic in shape in framing process. When non-quadrangular spaces PT9-PT11-PT23-PT9 are generated, the non-quadrangular spaces are redivided into quadrangular spaces PT9-PT10-PT18-PT17-PT9, PT10-PT11-PT19- PT18-PT10, PT23-PT17-PT18-PT19-PT23 and then quadrangular patches are spread. Thereby, algorithm used in operation for connecting adjoining patches when stretching patches in each framed space can be made simple.
