PURPOSE:To make a change of a vehicle speed gently, by making braking pressure to a state without pressure by gradually reducing a braking pressure in a brake cylinder in response to a command from a control unit when a control operation of a brake unit has been completed for preventing abrupt release of a braking force. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a brake cylinder 4 to which pressurized fluid from a master cylinder 6 is supplied by depressing a brake pedal 5 via a proportional valve PV and a gate valve GV or to which fluid discharged from a pump 7 is supplied via a hold valve HV and a decay valve DV. The respective valves GV, HV, the DV is controlled by a control unit 20. In this case, the device is so constructed that the control unit 20 causes the DV to open and close repeatedly for a prescribed period of time before the control of a rotating speed of a driving wheels 1 is completed and in a prescribed period of time after both the HV and DV have been closed so that pressurized fluid in the brake cylinder 4 is gradually discharged to make the cylinder in a state without pressure and then the GV is opened.
