PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin having excellent transparency and heat- resistance by coplymerizing methyl methacrylate and a specific N-substituted maleimide. CONSTITUTION:The objective heat-resistant resin is a copolymer of (A) 70-99(wt)% methyl methacrylate and (B) 1-30% N-cyclohexylmaleimide and/or N-t-butylmaleimide. The intrinsic viscosity of the copolymer is 0.3-1.0dl/g (measured in chloroform at 25 deg.C), the amount of residual methyl methacrylate in the copolymer is <=1.0% and the amount of residual N-t-butylmaleimide is <=0.3%.
