PURPOSE:To improve casting slab quality by generating a rotating flow at the same time of pouring molten metal into side wall of a vessel and separating non-metallic inclusions by floating up through the rotating flow. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical intermediate vessel 2 is set under a supplying vessel 1 for the molten metal 3 and an inclined member 5 made of refractory is arranged on the bottom of the vessel 2. The molten metal 3 is supplied from the bottom of the vessel 1 into the vessel 2 as natural dropping flow 4. Then, the dropping flow 4 is clashed against the inclined member 5 arranged on the bottom of the vessel 2 and changed to the inclined direction and formed as rotating flow 6 around the inside wall of the vessel 2. In this case, the position of the pouring point 8 is <=1/4 of the inner diameter of the vessel 2 from the inner wall and the inclined angle of the member 5 is about 30-60 deg.. In this way, the rotating flow generates ascendent flow while rotating, caused to separate the non-metallic inclusions by floating up. Therefore, the slab quality is improved.
