PURPOSE:To transport a photographic paper stably without applying an excessive force to it and to prevent the degradation in processing capability by forming plural printed pictures on both sides in a lateral direction on the long- sized photographic paper while leaving a blank part and using the blank part as a guide part for transportation. CONSTITUTION:A focusing lens 133 is placed in a position L1 of a turret type holding frame 132 to form a printed picture on a left area P1 in the lateral direction of the photographic paper, and the lens is moved to a position L2 to form a printed picture on an area P2, and the photographic paper is transported by an extent corresponding to one frame and pictures are printed by the lens in positions L2 and L1, and this operation is repeated. The excessive force is not applied to the photographic paper because the transporting speed can be make lower than that in the process where pictures are printed in a row in the longitudinal direction of the photographic paper, and the pictures are not damaged because both ends of the photographic paper are guided by guides 51 and 52 and the blank part between printing area is guided by a U-shaped guide 53. Thus, the photographic paper is transported stably without degrading the processing capability.
