PURPOSE:The titled composition, containing octachlorodipropyl ether and/or bromo-diiodo-propenyl ethyl carbonate as an antifouling component and capable of preventing the attaching and growing of aquatic organisms by coating ships, buoys, pipelines, raising nets, etc., therewith. CONSTITUTION:A composition containing preferably 5-150pts.wt., based on 100pts.wt. coating material resin, 2,2',3,3,3,3',3',3'-octachlorodipropyl ether expressed by the formula CCl2-CHCl-CH2-O-CH2-CHCl-CCl2 and/or 3-bromo-2,3- diiodo-2-propenyl ethyl carbonate expressed by the formula as an antifouling component.
