<p>PURPOSE:A method of effectively deodorization comprising contacting gas containing mercaptan, (di)sulfide, NH3 or amine with isocyanuric acid halide or a salt thereof and then contacting the resulting gas with activated carbon. CONSTITUTION:Gas containing mercaptan (for example CH3SH), (di)sulfide (for example CH3SCH3), NH3 or amine (for example CH3NH2) is contacted with monochloro (or bromo) isocyanuric acid or a salt thereof at a temperature of below about 80 deg.C, preferably 5-50 deg.C, at a space velocity of about 500-500000hr<-1>, preferably 1000-250000hr<-1>. Then the resulting gas is contacted with activated carbon having a surface area in the range of about 200-2000m<2>/g at a temperature of below about 75 deg.C, preferably 5-50 deg.C, at a space velocity of about 50- 50000hr<-1>, preferably 200-15000hr<-1>.</p> |
