PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a rate determining factor for synthesis of glycoprotein, ameliorant of hepatic function, anti-inflammatory agent, immunological enhancer, etc., in high yield, by reacting alpha- dihydropolyprenol with phosphorus oxychloride in an ether based solvent in the presence of a basic compound. CONSTITUTION:alpha-Dihydropolyprenol expressed by formula I (m is 4-22) is reacted with preferably 2-10mol equivalents, based on the compound expressed by formula I, phosphorus oxychloride in the presence of preferably 1.5-5mol equivalents, based on the compound expressed by formula I, basic compound, preferably triethylamine or pyridine in an ether based solvent, preferably THF, 1,2-dimethoxyethane or diethyl ether to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula II. |
