PURPOSE:To perform the engine torque control well at all times by providing main and sub sensor means for detecting the modifying timing of engine torque and functioning the sub sensor means upon malfunction of the main sensor means. CONSTITUTION:It is decided whether a main sensor means A for detecting the modifying timing of engine torque is in trouble on not by means of a main sensor malfunction deciding means B. If the main sensor means A is in trouble, a signal for commanding the operation is fed from the main sensor malfunction deciding means B so as to function a sub sensor means C. Consequently, even if the main sensor means A has failed, the engine torque control can be executed without trouble by functioning the sub sensor means C, thereby a trouble such as the occurrence of a large speed change impact or the application of an excessive load onto a frictional engaging device can be prevented. |
