PURPOSE:To obtain a combustion device easy in switching the amount of combustion in multiple stages and requiring no electric power consumption for switching the amount of combustion by a method wherein the combustion device is provided with bulkheads dividing a mixing chamber into a plurality of sections, a supplying body for supplying fuel and combustion air, cylindrical bodies, communicating respectively with the mixing chambers, and a float, floated by the pressures of the fuel and the combustion air. CONSTITUTION:A float 18 floats at a position whereat the pressure of mixture in a mixing chamber 5 and the self weight thereof are balanced, therefore, a part communicating with a lower part partitioned by the float 18 in a mixing chamber 5 has a constant pressure and a combustion load on a surface, on which the flame of a flame port body 7 is formed, becomes constant at all times. That means pressures in the mixing chambers 53, 54, 55 become constant in a condition shown by a diagram (a) and a pressure in the mixing chamber 53 becomes constant in a condition shown by the diagram (b). In order to prevent the leakage of mixture, air is supplied to the cavity 19 of the float 18 from an air pressure source 3 and is released slightly from an opening part 20 to generate a dynamic pressure in a part near the float 18 and a cylindrical body 17, therefore, the leakage of the mixture to the side of upper chambers partitioned by the float 18 is prevented. Further, the amount of combustion may be switched automatically in accordance with the change of the amount of combustion by the employment of the float 18.
