PURPOSE:To maintain the specified liquid level of a coating liquid and to coat the coating liquid onto a drum to a uniform film thickness by immersing a drum having the shape and volume equal to the shape and volume of the drum into the coating liquid at the same speed as the pulling up speed in the stage of pulling up the drum from the coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to a method and device for coating the coating liquid such as photosensitive material onto the outside peripheral face of the cylindrical drum such as electrophotographic sensitive body. A pair of the drums 11, 12 having the equal shape and volume are used in said method and the respective drums 11 and 12 are moved upward and downward at an equal speed in the axial directions opposite from each other. One drum 11 is preliminarily raised along the axial direction thereof in the coating liquid 31 in a coating liquid tank 30 and the other drum 12 is gradually immersed into the coating liquid 31 at the speed equal to the speed of the drum 11. The level of the surface of the coating liquid is maintained always constant in the above-mentioned manner and therefore, the coating liquid having a uniform film thickness is coated on the outside peripheral face of the drum. |
