PURPOSE:To peptize ceramic powder and to obtain excellent dispersion liquid by adding sodium pyrophosphate and tannic acid of specified amount to suspension of ceramic powder. CONSTITUTION:0.4-2wt% sodium pyrophosphate and 0.01-1wt% tannic acid for ceramic powder are added to suspension of ceramic powder. The viscosity change in such case that sodium pyrophosphate is added in the range of 0-2wt% to silicon carbide slurry having about 33% slurry concn. wherein 0.19wt% tannic acid is preliminarily added is shown in a figure. In such a way, viscosity of slurry is remarkably reduced by adding sodium pyrophosphate and tannic acid compositely and the effect excellent in peptization and dispersion of ceramic powder including silicon carbide is attained.
