PURPOSE:To improve functions by providing not only merely a transfer function, but also a character recognizing (OCR) function and a printing function using a type. CONSTITUTION:A control part 40 is provided with a character recognizing part 408 which recognizes characters on the basis of image data stored in an image memory 405 and a type print information output part 409 composed of, for example, a character generator which outputs type print information on the basis of character recognition information of the character recognition part 408. A character recognition control ROM part 408h inputs the information to a CPU 401 cooperatively and performs a specific process to decide what character image data is. Then, the CPU 401 fetches type print information corresponding to the decision result from the type print information part 409 during printing and prints it out.
