PURPOSE:To execute efficiently the input and reinput of setting information to a facsimile equipment without using additional manual operation by storing respective information to be stored in an external device and changing and correcting data on the external device side. CONSTITUTION:Detecting termination from the external device through a network control circuit in a communication part 2, a microprocessor 7 sends an answer signal (CED) fro a single tone generating part in the communication part 2 to a transmission line 1. Then, the microprocessor 7 turns on a non-standard function identifying signal (NSF) display definition bit for displaying that the facsimile equipment has a nonstandard function and temporarily stores the NSF in a buffer area of a RAM 9. Then, the microprocessor 7 reads out respective frames of a called subscriber identifying signal (CSI) and a digital identifying signal (DIS) successively from the RAM 9 and sent the files successively to the transmission line 1 through the communication part 2. The external device recognizes on the basis of the NSF received from the facsimile equipment that the facsimile equipment has the non-standard function.
