Transport mechanism with chain drive and endless chain

The invention can be used to move pallets or the like by means of a chain drive into an end position in which a stop comes into effect. The chain drive has sprockets which are arranged at four corner points and over which an endless chain is run. The chain has at least one flight which engages in a link fastened to the respective pallet. The aim of the invention is for the pallet, after automatic transport into its end position is complete, to also be automatically placed against the existing stop free of play. The object of the invention is to create a transport mechanism according to the field of application in which the transport drive is utilised for removing the play. To this end, in each case the short chain strand which lies near the stop is inclined so that the flight first places the pallet against the stop on the path of this strand and, on its further path along the inclinations, it presses the pallet by means of a resilient link wall against the stop. <IMAGE>
