PURPOSE:To increase the magnetic body part and improve electromagneric conversion characteristic by providing a magnetic body part in a part of a core for recording and reproducing and using it in common as a part of a magnetic path of an erasing core, and using a magnetic body provided in a part of the erasing core as a part of a magnetic path of the core for recoding and reproducing in common. CONSTITUTION:Non-magnetic body parts 25, 26 are provided in parts of erasing cores 22, 23, and a non-magnetic body part 29 is provided in a part of an R/W core, and other parts are magnetic body parts. the width W1-W3 of the non- magnetic body parts 25, 26, 29 are larger than the maximum wavelength recordable by the magnetic head. Thereby, magnetic fluxes generated from a R/W coil 32 passes through the R/W core 21 and erasing cores 22, 23. These magnetic fluxes join near the non-magnetic body parts 25, 26 and flow to an R/W tap 24. The magnetic flux is branched again near the breaks of non- magnetic body parts 25, 26 and made to a closed magnetic circuit by pack cores 30, 31. Accordingly, the magnetic body part can be increased, and electromagnetic conversion characteristic can be improved very simply.
