PURPOSE:To obtain an input/output signal processor which is capable of a high-speed processing action with a short scanning time, by retrieving the block and trigger parts of a sequence program that require no retrieval processing and omitting the processing for both retrieved parts. CONSTITUTION:A retrieving point calculating means 30 calculates the address of a retrieval starting point block of a sequence and a structure element retrieving means 31 retrieves the constitution of a block branching point of said calculated block address. A constitution element state deciding means 32 retrieves the ON/OFF state of a contact and delivers a continuing signal to the means 30 when the continuation of retrieval is required and then a jump signal to a retrieving point jumping means 33 when the jumping of the retrieving point is required respectively. The means 33 delivers the jump signal to the means 30 that calculated the next retrieving point. In such a way, it is avoided that the ON/OFF states of all blocks are always retrieved. This shortens the program scanning time.
